PB Drive!!!

Smooth, chunky, natural, reduced fat, swirled with jelly, Smuckers, Jif, Planters, or even Smart Balance. What’s your preference? What if it was your way to survive? Many people in the DC area and beyond are hungry, homeless, and are in need of our help!

CUA women’s basketball has been collecting any types of peanut butter to donate to a local homeless shelter. Kat Jax has connections with the Cheesecake factory restaurant in Arlington. They’ve been running a Peanut Butter drive to help those less fortunate. They challenged our team to collect 200 pounds of Peanut Butter. It’s been quite the race! Let me toot my own horn by saying I’m in the lead with 29 lbs of peanut butter!! Someone even asked if I own a peanut butter factory. One of these days, Donohue will probably top all of us, but I'll enjoy the lead until then.

Our team has taken on this challenge with vengeance. Being athletes, competition is what we are good at. It sure helps that were doing it for a good cause. It’s second nature for those at Catholic University to answer the call to serve those in need. As the University celebrates its 125th anniversary, President Garvey calls for the community to perform 125,000 hours of charitable service by next Founders Day, April 10, 2012. Our team is taking on this challenge by the horns and we hope to donate as much peanut butter as possible!
